You don’t need to spend alot of money to drive masses of visitors to your website; there are many low cost and free methods. The most important is search engines. This is because it’s the first place people go when they are looking for information or products. You need to be found by the search engines or you wont be found by your potential customers either. 87% of online internet users ( according to a recent Georgia Institute of Technology research study) use search engines as their primary means of finding products and services; Google has the lion’s share of this at 66%. You want your website to be easily found by the search engines. The conclusion of the study was that most people assume that if your website is listed first its better than those that follow. Secondly, online consumers prefer to do business with those website listed in the top 20 search results and 80-90% of people rarely look further than the first page of results. Lastly, visitors sent to websites via search engines are “10 times” more likely to become customers than those who arrive by some other means. So, in other words. The higher your website appears the better results and traffic you will get. That’s why Search Engine Optimization or SEO is an important internet strategy to employ. Sound discouraging; it’s just a process for improving quantity and quality of traffic sent to your website from search engines.
